Heart Safe Australia in partnership with Mindray Defibrillators is very proud to have donated and installed a Mindray C2 Public Access Defibrillator at the very busy Manly Wharf on the Sydney Northern Beaches. 8 million people a year will pass this new Save Station!
By installing a Mindray C2 Public Access Defibrillator available for all to use in case of a sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is a step forward in making the Manly Wharf a Heart Safe Environment including awareness and education about potentially saving lives.
See Max’s interview from Heart Safe Australia with the Mayor of the Northern Beaches after the installation and how proud he is to be part of this Heart Safe Environment initiative - https://youtu.be/AOKM3tilZ40.
Thank you Northern Beaches Mayor Michael Regan to support the Heart Safe Environments initiative and to challenge other Mayor across NSW and the rest of Australia to promote and setup such Heart Safe Environments to save lives.
In Australia approximately 30,000 people a year (575 per week) sustain Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) outside of a hospital and are treated by emergency medical services (EMS)!
An average of only 9% of its victims in Australia survive!
Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) knows no boundaries
- It can happen anytime, anywhere and to anyone at any age
- Early defibrillation is the single most effective treatment for Sudden Cardiac Arrest
- Defibrillation within three minutes of collapse can increase the chance of survival to over 70%
Creating safer places for you to work, live and play; Heart Safe Australia aims to create more Heart Safe Environments across Australia by placing defibrillators in educational establishments, workplaces, sports and leisure clubs, public and community environments—allowing you to simply, safely and effectively help someone save a life.
