Max Dagenais founder of Heart Safe Australia interviews the Health Minister Hon. Brad Hazzard during the Restart a Heart event about raising awareness and education about saving lives across Australia with the new Heart Safe Environment initiative from Heart Safe Australia.

Three important steps to save a life

Heart Safe Australia's mission is to raise awareness about the THREE STEPS to potientially save lives in case of a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) as well as creating Heart Safe Environments across Australia

Restart a Heart - Saving Lives

In Australia approximately 30,000 people sustain a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) outside of a hospital and are treated by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) each year.

That’s 575 Australians suffering a SCA every week and
ONLY 1 out of 10 WILL SURVIVE!

Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) knows no boundaries

  • It can happen anytime, anywhere and to anyone at any age
  • Early defibrillation is the single most effective treatment for Sudden Cardiac Arrest
  • Defibrillation within three minutes of collapse can increase the chance of survival to over 70%

Saving Lives...

Creating safer places for you to work, live and play; Heart Safe Australia aims to create more Heart Safe Environments across Australia by placing defibrillators in educational establishments, workplaces, sports and leisure clubs, public and community environments—allowing you to simply, safely and effectively help someone save a life.
