Cotton Tree Holiday Park - Morning BBQ Raising Awareness and Education to 150+ Grey Nomads in Case of a Sudden Cardiac Arrest
On Saturday June 25th, Heart Safe Australia held another very successful Heart Safe Community morning BBQ at the Cotton Tree Holiday Park while raising Awareness and Education to 150+ Grey Nomads with our Heart Safe RV lifesaving program in case of a Sudden Cardiac Arrest out-of-hospital
Unfortunately, most Grey Nomads are NOT READY to jump into a cardiac arrest or heart attack situation. Most don’t know the difference between a heart attack (circulation) and cardiac arrest (electrical) which requires a defib. Well, they know now!
Educating Grey Nomads travelling and enjoying life on the road around Australia is very much needed as we find 95+ % of grey nomads WOULD NOT be comfortable helping saving a life in case of a Sudden Cardiac Arrest out-of-hospital prior to our morning BBQ and presentation.
On average, 575 Australians suffering a Sudden Cardiac Arrest out-of-hospital every week and ONLY 1 out of 10 WILL SURVIVE!
After our Raising Awareness and Education presentation, we find 95+% of grey nomads WOULD BE comfortable helping saving a life while having access to a defibrillator and CPR awareness training.
Also, Grey Nomads tried their skills using a defib and doing CPR and lots of questions were asked.
There are now more Heart Safe RVs in parks and on the road joining our Heart Safe RV movement and over 150+ grey nomads now ready to help saving a life!
Being PROACTIVE with awareness and education makes Grey Nomads ABLE and READY to help as opposed to being REACTIVE and not really know what to do!
Thank you Craig, Trent and Natalie at the beautiful Cotton Tree Holiday Park in Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast for allowing Heart Safe Australia to raise awareness and education of saving lives in case of a sudden cardiac arrest out-of-hospital.
OFF to the next Holiday Park!
