Tamworth Council is taking proactive measures to save lives during out-of-hospital cardiac arrests by installing 10 defibrillators in Council vehicles and workplaces.

Defibrillators for Vehicles and Workplaces

With Heart Safe Vehicles equipped with lifesaving defibrillators and training in the 3-STEPS to save a life, council workers are prepared to respond and save lives both on the road and at job sites.

Startling Statistic:
Every week, 575 Australians experience a sudden cardiac arrest out-of-hospital, and shockingly, ONLY 1 out of 10 will survive.

Act Fast: You Have Just 3-5 Minutes!  During a cardiac arrest, every second counts. Restart the heart within 3 to 5 minutes for the best chance of survival. Don't wait, every moment is critical!

Great proactivity by Jack Watkins at Tamworth Council for planning and organising with the help of Heart Safe Australia. Ten new defibrillators have now been setup and ready to be used on the road, on worksites and in the workplaces.

Well done to Jack for organising a morning BBQ for over 40 Council staff, followed by a lifesaving demonstration by Heart Safe Australia. The event raised awareness and educated everyone on how to save a life in the event of an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
